Composite Imaging Recommends Rashid Rana at The Corner House, Manchester

Rashid Rana, artist working in  South East Asia is considered to be a prominent and original contemporary artist. It is his first UK sol show and includes new and recent works that deal with the unconventional use of the photographic image/object. The photo sculptures and wall photo mosaics allow  the viewer to perceive at a distance something that is quite different closer up, the cultural & political realities. One piece in particular allows you to see a stunning image of a Carpet, but it is made up of mosaic photographs of people at war.

Composite Imaging recommend The Jaume Plensa Exhibition:

Don’t miss the Jaume Plensa exhibition at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. It runs until 25th September 2011. We first saw this artist’s work last year in Nice and were overwhelmed by the sheer scale and also the ‘fun’ and the ‘interactive’ elements that made us want to see more. The sculpture Park are currently displaying new and recent work by Jaume Plensa who uses universal themes in his work such as love, memory, language and despair. The exhibition includes large illuminated sculptures in the landscape and amazing alabaster heads and a 50-metre curtain of poetry made of suspended steel letters, as part of the indoor displays of the work. Go and see it, you won’t be disappointed.
